The repressed bitterness, anger and disappointment simmering for years inside the Lee family finally erupt in Everything I Never Told You after daughter Lydia, her parents’ favorite, disappears on May 3, 1977. I needed to write a essay for this book and decided to purchase this ebook to help me out. It's a very good and descriptive summary of the book. Gave me a better understanding of the whole plot and main point of the story about how tough a family can be towards the children dreams.

  • Love the way Instared summed the book

It's rare to find a book that cogently tackles a bevy of issues---racism, sexism, marital strife, interracial marriage, parenting, homosexuality, extramarital affairs, death of a child---and that doesn't devolve into a "Lifetime Movie of the Week" melodrama. Celeste Ng's debut novel "Everything I Never Told You" succeeds beautifully in being that rare unsentimental tearjerker of a novel. It is real, brutally honest, and believable.
