Over the last several years, viewers of my website blogs have had a front row view of my journey from being a former Liberty University Bible-degree trained online evangelist to MBA-degreed accountant for the IRS and big name corporations to the awakening by reality that led me to being a liberal, relationship-focused, blogger and writer.
It has been a revealing journey downward (or upward), and I have decided to collect all of my blogs from that time to this (including those in previous books I had out there) to help others see in my journey the lessons they need to understand the things hidden from them, imprisoning them, by those that claim to support them.
Plato wrote a book, before the time of Christ, called Republic in which he copied down the words of Socrates, a big name in Greek culture at the time and centuries, after. In one section of the book, he wrote about people that were chained in a cave, seeing only the shadows of real life that were being projected on the wall they could see. In the book, someone gets free and sees not only that they had been chained but that what they felt was real life was, instead, just a poor copy of what was outside the cave. So, he tried to tell the others about the deception they were living within.
Yet, upon telling them about the deception, those in the cave shut him out, attacked him, and killed him, because they loved the lives built on lies more than the unsettling truth.
Unfortunately, this is the world we live in, today. It was the world that opposed me in every step of my learning process, as those around me fought with all their might to keep me from learning or pointing out the injustices being normalized in our society, and it is the reason that I feel the need to write this book. It needs to be said. Things need to change.
My hope is that you will awaken from reading my testament in these pages, so you don’t have to repeat the wasted years that I have had. However, at the very least, I hope that you will take the time to reflect on the real life challenges and questions that I pose to try to come up with your own explanations and solutions.
If we turn a blind eye to what others do or leave undone, simply because it is not being done to us, we may soon find our ourselves in the crosshairs for something else they deem unpatriotic or unchristian.
However, whichever you choose, I KNOW that just reading this book will inspire you to live your life, instead of letting others live that life for you, and that alone is the best gift that I can give you…the freedom to be…you.
