Description

In What A Time To Be Alone, The Slumflower will be your life guru, confidante and best friend. She’ll show you that being alone is not just okay: it’s just about the best freaking thing that’s ever happened to you. As she says, ‘You’re bad as hell and you were made with intention.’ It’s about time you realised.

Peppered with insightful Igbo proverbs from Chidera’s Nigerian mother and full of her own original artwork, What A Time To Be Alone will help you navigate the modern world. We can all decide our own fates and Chidera shows us how, using a three-part approach filled with sass, wisdom and charm.

Learn how to celebrate YOU – decide your self-worth, take time to heal and empower yourself in this messy world.
Don’t worry about THEM – avoid other people’s demons and realize that everyone is protecting themselves from something – no matter how aggressive their method.
Feel the togetherness in US – sustain and grow healthy relationships and avoid toxicity in your friendships.

Own your story. Create your own narrative. Read this book. #WATTBA

I think the author means well and shares some nice messages from her valued loved ones. However, the layout and graphics of the book are downright dizzying. It was super challenging trying to read on my iPad and horrid on the iPhone. This would maybe ideal in print for the side table as a go to reference. Cheers to the author!

It took me two hours to read this book and I love it. I know I’ll definitely be reading it a few more times this year...it’s one of those books that you keep and read to remind you of what matters when life starts to happen as it often does. Thumbs up, Chidera!

It’s an okay book with a lot of short stories and messages. It’s okay for what it is but I assumed it would be of more substance.

I enjoyed this book to the highest extent. I was going through some of my own personal battles, so one day I decided to pick it up and read it. I instantly fell in LOVE with it, I couldn’t put it down. After reading it, I felt much lighter and knew that better things are to come my way whenever the time may be.

What a perfect caption, for my current situation! I thank the author wholeheartedly! If I was able to put my thoughts in a book, it’ll sound something like this! In today’s society with the highlight of social media, social acceptance, social coolness, just social blahhhh it’s hard to be an actual human being, with human feelings and have basic human interactions! This book touched on everything I’m currently going through along with things I been through! Thanks again for such an accurately beautifully written book!

This book was amazing. Everything that you have ever thought about relationships, life and yourself in one way or another comes up in this book. It puts all the topics that no one wants to ever talk about on the page and leaves you with the peace of mind that you’re not the only one thinking these things. Overall great & easy read!

I’ve never related to a book so much , it felt like I was reading about my own life for the most part. All my internal struggles....everything. This made me realize I am not alone and find the courage to protect myself because I come first. And also realize I have a lot of toxic people in my life I need to get rid of and face my own toxic traits as well. Thank you.
