The Dogfather – A New Contemporary Romance Series from Roxanne St. Claire

The Dogfather isn’t just one man…it’s a brand new contemporary romance series from New York Times bestselling author Roxanne St. Claire celebrating what she loves most: hot guys, great dogs, big families…and true love. And a portion of the proceeds from every book in the series will be donated to the Alaqua Animal Refuge in the author’s home state of Florida!

Daniel Kilcannon is known as  “The Dogfather” for a reason.   It’s not just his renowned skills as a veterinarian, his tremendous love of dogs, or the fact that he has turned his homestead in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains into a world class dog training and rescue facility. Ask his six grown children who run Waterford Farm for him, and they’ll tell you that their father’s nickname is due to his uncanny ability to pull a few strings to get what he wants. And what he wants is for his four sons and two daughters to find the kind of life-changing love he had with his dearly departed wife, Annie.  This old dog has a few new tricks…and he’ll use them all to see his pack all settled into their happily ever afters!

Garrett Kilcannon, a former dot com super-success who now devotes his life to rescuing dogs and finding them homes, prefers to keep his secrets buried as deep as a dog hides his bone.   So when he  learns his father has invited a journalist to Waterford Farm to write and produce an in-depth profile on him, he doesn’t care that she’s a childhood friend or drop dead gorgeous.  He has zero tolerance for the media…until he sees a different side when she gets through the walls of a rescue dog who’s refused to eat during her short stay at Waterford.  Unwillingly charmed and undeniably attracted, Garrett agrees to the interview that could  break down a few of his emotional walls, too.

Garrett might not want to share the story of his colorful former life, but Jessie Curtis has the skills to peel back the layers of this  sexy, complicated, caring man.  In the process, she not only discovers his secrets, she finds herself falling for a man who touches her heart in a way she never thought possible.  Her entire career is riding on this one explosive interview, but can she bear to repay Garrett’s trust by selling his story? Or can a woman who gave up on happiness a long time ago learn to believe that all it takes to rescue a lost heart is the love of a good man?

Watch for the whole series coming in 2017 and 2018!

Another great book by Roxanne St. Claire. She is one of my favorite auditors. Stay..Sit..Beg is the first in this series and including dogs in this romance was a stroke of genius. They add so much to our lives. Can't wait to read the next book. Family love is stressed also.

I LOVE THIS BOOK AND CANNOT WAIT FOR OTHERS IN THE SERIES! Roxanne St. Claire has done it again. This is the first book in her new Dogfather Series and I loved in. The Kilcannons are an amazing family hat I couldn't get enough of and cannot wait to read their stories. They run an animal rescue and training center in Bitter Bark, NC. Jessica Jane Curtis is a journalist with ties to the Kilcannon family. When an opportunity arises for her to get the inside scoop on Garrett Kilcannon and possibly a promotion to an on air position she's all in. Jessie returns to the Waterford Farm in Bitter Bark, NC the place of so many wonderful childhood memories. She was the BFF of Molly, the oldest Kilcannon daughter. Jessie wants to interview Garrett, he agrees, but then is evasive about setting up interview times. Jessie, meets Lola, a collie mix that abandoned at a rest stop. Lola was depressed until Jessie arrived. Jessie got her to do everything that Garrett could not. Jessie used that as her bargaining chip. Jessie's boss calls her "the wall breaker" because she can break down anyone's walls. Which she eventually does will Garrett as they fall in love. During one intimate "off the record" interview Garrett bares his soul and all his secrets. Only to have them become part of the story that Jessie will air. Trust is broken and he sends Jessie away. Jessie gets to the bottom of the betrayal and realizes she needs to make changes to her life, like the quote in her cube tells her. The book has some bittersweet and wonderful moments. I loved every page and so often found those "aww" moments. Great characters and wonderful settings. Cannot wait to read Shane's story. Highly recommended for the dog lover In all of us!

Well, Roxanne St. Claire has gone and done it again - "Sit...Stay...Beg" is another blue ribbon winner! In this first book of The Dogfather series we're introduced to the Kilcannon family and get to know Garrett who has come home to North Carolina to work at what makes him happy - dogs. Specifically rescuing, training and finding forever homes for dogs who've been lost or abandoned and/or mistreated. When childhood family friend, Jessie Curtis shows up as a writer from an online emag, Garrett is attracted but conflicted. He's had bad experiences with media types before and doesn't trust them so if takes time for Jessie to get Garrett to agree to an interview. And Jessie is the only human type able to communicate with "Lola" Garrett's most recent rescue. Along the way, bonds are formed and things get complicated but Lola helps simplify and give meaning to Jessie and Garrett's lives. I love Roxanne St. Claire's work and her love of dogs shines brightly in this love story. I'm eagerly anticipating the next book in the Dogfather series.
  • Amazing story!!!

Roxanne St. Claire introduces us to the Kilcannon clan in The Dogfather series. I absolutely fell in love with the members of the Kilcannon clan we met in Sit...Stay...Beg and have a special love for the patriarch Daniel and his plans for his family. Sit...Stay...Beg is Garrett Kilcannon's book and I quickly fell for this amazing man. I loved that the Kilcannon clan ran a dog rescue and training facility at their home on Waterford Farm. I loved that each member of the family had their own special skills when working with the rescue dogs. Garrett Kilcannon is pretty much a dog whisperer when it comes to rescues. However, it seems the only person their latest rescue Lola connects with is journalist Jessica Jane Curtis. Jessie grew up as Garrett's little sister's best friend and loved being at Waterford Farm and with the Kilcannon family when she was growing up. She now has the chance of a lifetime to job waiting if she can only get an in depth expose on Garrett Kilcannon, who hates the media with a passion. Jessie and Garrett also have a bit of history and the attraction they had a teenagers has only intensified as adults. I especially loved that Garrett needed Jessie's help with their new rescue Lola. Lola was the sweetest dog on the face of the planet and instantly fell in love with Jessie and the feeling was completely mutual. I felt like Lola was an important part of Garrett and Jessie's relationship. She was the reason they initial reason they spent more time together, as Jessie was the only one to get Lola to eat at first. I loved the more time Garrett spent with Jessie, the easier it was for him to open up about the secrets from his past. While Garrett and Jessie's romance had some bumps along the way, I loved watching them find happiness together. Sit...Stay...Beg was an amazing start to a new series from Roxanne St. Claire. I loved the fact the Kilcannon clan is so large and honestly fell in love with each and every member of the family we met. I'm a big fan of big families and add in the rescue dog element, and I was in heaven while I read. I'm so excited that each member of the Kilcannon family will get their own book in The Dogfather series. Ms. St. Claire has once again delivered an amazing series for her readers and old fans and new fans will be completely enchanted by the family. Rating: 5 Stars (A)
